What does Gaza need?

The pressure on Israel is to open the border so people can have access to medical treatment, food and supplies as it was before the closure in June 2007. International aid organisations are asking for easier access to the area in order to work more efficiently. But this does not solve the problems for people in Gaza, it will just hinder the gravest consequences of the occupation.

It is about time that Gaza and the rest of the occupied territories get the international support that is needed in order to fullfill its rights according to international law and the relevant UN resolutions . The people are tired from receiving aid, they want selfdetermination, and like other people they want to have access to education and work in order to support themselves. They are tired from the internal fighting, and the longer this separation will last, the more distant the politics of occupation will be. Regular people have to fight for the next meal, and to have a full container of cooking gas is what makes people happy today. Whom is benefitting from such a development?
